Abstract

In this paper, factors affecting the employees’ notions of organizational justice are analyzed through metaphors. To this end, a total of 27 academicians working for Erbaa Vocational School and Erbaa Vocational School of Health Services were interviewed face-to-face. In the standard open-ended interview forms, the participants were asked which metaphors they use to refer to the factors affecting organizational justice and why they use these specific metaphors. The perception of organizational justice was studied in four sub-dimensions; distributive justice, procedural justice, interpersonal and informational justice. We used both quantitative and qualitative methods in the study. We selected an etnography as for the qualitative part of our study using descriptive and content analysis for the data analysis. Selecting descriptive research design for the quantitative part of our study, we used SPSS 22.0 software to look at the frequencies and percentage distributions of the data quantified with content analysis. According to the research results, organizational justice within the institution is referred with negative metaphors by 54,7 % of the academicians and 4,8 % are neutral, remaining undecided while 40,5 % express positive metaphors regarding the organizational justice. According to the analysis of the data gathered, it is safe to state that 459 metaphors were produced by the academicians and the number of negative metaphors weighs more. The use of metaphor analysis as a method to determine organizational justice had us reach in-depth findings about the institution.
