After the atomic bombardment of the two cities of Nagasaki and Hiroshima by the USA, the international communities figured out this important issue that the destruction by this type of weapons is beyond human imaginations and that they not only sacrificed the human beings and cities but also blindly annihilated all living beings and, more importantly, the environment for a long period of time; based thereon, they started thinking about restricting them and many efforts have been so far made in this regard by the foresaid communities.
But, the life-bestowing school of Islam has reminded the mankind of the importance of the environment centuries ago and made strict warnings concerning the destruction and damaging thereof. Islamic jurisprudence and law and, fortunately, international laws contain valuable materials and articles explicitly underlining the prohibition and forbiddance of proliferating and applying weapons of mass destruction (WMDs). The present article has been authored in line with the accomplishment of this goal so as to show that the proliferation and application of these weapons is taboo and completely forbidden and refuted from the perspective of the Book and Sunnah.
