Mustafa AMARAT %A Deniz SAĞLIK %J Journal of Organizational Behavior Research %@ 2528-9705 %D 2017 %V 2 %N 2 %P 20-39 %X The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of job satisfaction on motivation levels of nurses working in public hospitals. 123 nurses who working in Sakarya Yenikent state hospital participated in this research. The questionnaire form for participation is composed of 3 parts; (1) While the first part has demographic information on participants (2) in the second part, Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale developed by Weiss and colleagues, and (3) in the last part, Motivation Scale at work where validity and reliability was analyzed by Gagne et al. (2010) was used. In the study, descriptive statistical analyzes, reliability analyzes, t-test in independent samples, one-way ANOVA analysis, posthoc analysis, Kruskal Wallis, Mann-Whitney u test, correlation and regression analyzes were used. As a result of the research, the relationship between job satisfaction, internal satisfaction , external satisfaction and motivation (r = 0,777) was found. The regression model between the variables was significant (F = 183,063, p = 0,000) and job satisfaction explained motivation of 60.1%. According to the results of the study, job satisfaction of nurses is possible not by job rotation or wage increase but by strengthening friendship and co-operation in working environment. For this reason, it is recommended that strengthening of communication among employees and development of helping culture in the responsibilities of health administrators. %U https://odad.org/article/the-effect-of-job-satisfaction-of-nurses-on-motivation
